About · Personal context
Between operations, development and entrepreneurship.
I combine operational IT work with software development, part-time studies and building my own products. I am especially interested in keeping systems understandable and reliable in everyday use.

What I do
As an IT consultant, I work with infrastructure, virtualization, backup and disaster recovery, storage, Windows Server, Linux, networking and monitoring.
Since September 2025, I have been studying Business Information Systems part-time for a Bachelor of Science at FOM University. In parallel, I build my own structures and products as managing shareholder of smilch UG.
Homelab and development
I have operated a homelab since 2020 as a permanent environment for learning, development and operations. I build and run full-stack applications with DevOps practices, deepen my infrastructure knowledge and test new technologies in a controlled setting. Proxmox and Linux have been core areas of focus since 2020.
AI as a companion
For me, AI is not an isolated tool that blindly takes over tasks, but a companion in day-to-day work. I integrate it into planning, implementation, review and documentation through workflow- and process-oriented practices. Decisions and responsibility remain with me.
How I work
I prefer traceable decisions, small reliable steps and documentation that remains useful months later. A system is not finished when it runs once, but when operations and recovery are understood.
